Unwin Company consultants have addressed inherent safety since 1988, when the concept was included in the book Guidelines for Vapor Release Mitigation (New York: AIChE Center for Chemical Process Safety). We have presented papers and workshops on inherent safety, and have provided input to the implementation of safety ordinances as they relate to inherently safer systems.
